A ng so, the device regulates the patient’s heart beat. This device maintains the heart condition of the patient and eliminates irregular beating by synchronizing the heart.
A patient would be in need of a pacemaker if he or she is suffering from an irregular heart beat or if the heart beat is not fast enough. The other circumstance in which this device is needed by a patient is when the electrical conduction system of the patient’s heart is blocked somehow.
These devices which are designed to save lives have been upgraded so that they can be programmed and examined externally; without having to open up the patient once again just to check the device. The physician or cardiologist can select the proper pace mode of the device depending on the needs and condition of the patient.
The pacemakers in the modern world have the basic function of monitoring the electrical rhythm of the heart. If there is any irregularity or if it does not sense any electrical signal from the body to the heart, it does so itself thus preventing any discomfort or complication for the patient. There are other complex functions of this device today which may be used for different situations.
