Why do you need a pacemaker?
You will need a pacemaker for a number of reasons. The most common reason is when your heart beat is too slow or when there’s a long pause between the heart beats. This situation may be called bradycardia. If you are a person experiencing bradycardia or slowness of the beating of the heart that is when the natural pacemaker of the heart called sino-atrial node located in the right chamber of the heart does not generate enough beats per minute, you are likely to use pacemaker to stabilize your heartbeat. A pacemaker is a small battery operated device that is placed in the chest or abdomen with a computerized program that fuel up a heartbeat through an electrical impulse.

In a normal heart function, the right atrium sends an electrical impulse that travels through the heart tissues to the ventricles. This causes the heart muscles to contract and pump blood throughout the body and the lung tissues. When any portion of this sequence occurs a person may experience arrhythmia, a condition when the pacemaker of the heart fails to send electrical impulses properly leading to the disturbance or interruption in the rhythm of the heart. This situation may cause a person to fell dizzy or light-headed, and may even lead to fainting. During such cases a pacemaker is needed to regulate the heartbeat.
A pacemaker can give an immeasurable assistance to a person; it can monitor the function of the person’s heart and help him or her restore an active lifestyle.
